Kick Your Way to Victory: 2026 Soccer Rules Practice Exam Extravaganza!

When the ball goes out of bounds over the sideline in soccer, the appropriate restart is a throw-in for the team that did not touch the ball last. This rule ensures fairness by giving possession back to the team that did not cause the ball to go out of play.

Option A (Corner kick) is incorrect because a corner kick is awarded when the defending team is the last to touch the ball before it goes out of bounds over the goal line, either with the ball remaining in play or going out of bounds over the goal line.

Option B (Goal kick) is incorrect as a goal kick is awarded when the attacking team is the last to touch the ball before it goes out of bounds over the goal line, either with the ball remaining in play or going out of bounds over the goal line.

Option D (Direct free kick) is incorrect as a direct free kick is awarded for fouls committed by the opponent, not for the ball going out of bounds.
